Party Boat Trolling Hook

The ultimate trolling hook for serious salmon anglers. The Party Boat Trolling Hook combines the proven design features trusted by Northern California salmon charters with advanced refinements for unmatched bait action, hook penetration, and fish-sticking performance.

Designed specifically for trolling, this lightweight wire hook creates an ultra-tight rolling action that outperforms traditional trolling hooks. Its custom hook and balanced profile allow your bait to spin naturally at a wide range of trolling speeds — even in tough conditions or slow bites.

The small-diameter hook eye reduces tearing when threading through anchovies, herring, or sardines, helping preserve bait integrity and extend durability in the water.

Each hook features an exclusive PTFE slick coating on our custom Pitbull Tackle hook for maximum penetration. These ultra-sharp hooks are engineered to hook fish effortlessly, even while trolling slowly or using setups with line stretch where instant penetration matters most.

Important California Salmon Regulation Notice

BARB WARNING:
When trolling for salmon in California, hook barbs must be removed. Always check your local fishing regulations to confirm whether barbed hooks are permitted in your area. We recommend removing barbs with a pair of needle nose pliers or a hook file.

How To Rig

Preparing Your Baits

Start by laying out several baitfish before rigging. Preparing multiple baits ahead of time makes quick changes easier while fishing.

For enhanced durability, allow frozen baits to fully thaw in a premium brine before rigging. (Optional)

Rigging Instructions

  1. Insert the wire end of the hook into the side of the baitfish.
  2. Carefully thread the hook through the center of the bait and out through the mouth.
  3. The metal loop at the end of the hook shaft should slightly protrude from the bait’s mouth.
  4. The hook bend and point should exit the side of the bait with the hook point facing downward.
  5. Secure the bait using the included pin and wire (or a nail and rubber band) by wrapping the mouth closed as tight as possible without crushing the head of the bait.
